2019 NEC4 amendment to clause 63.5

2019 NEC4 amendment to clause 63.5

Without trying to sound to corny this article is a bit of closure for me in my quest for clarification to the industry of how to assess change against the last Accepted Programme under NEC contracts. I have written previous articles on what NEC3 contracts must mean in this regards, and then commented on what NEC4 changed these words to, which I was very critical of for not achieving its objectives. Then in Oct 2017 we saw guidance published from the authors of the contract, and finally now in 2019 an amendment on the contractual wording itself.

This now clarifies that you take into account progress and other compensation events that have occurred since the last Accepted Programme – but check out the article yourself and see what you think on the contractual wording and my thoughts.
