NEC People awards 2014

NEC People Awards 2014

At the 2014 NEC People conference in June we are having our first annual NEC People industry awards. The five categories for this year’s awards are as follows, with the first three awards each come with a prize of £5000 of free eLearning licences from Built Intelligence for the winners. If you would like to nominate anyone for any of these categories please use the link below or email [email protected] for a nomination form. Closing date for nominations is the 31st May 2014 with the awards being announced at the conference on the 17th June. Judges will be looking for clear demonstration within each nomination as to why the person/project nominated most demonstrates the values that the NEC3 contracts are trying to encourage and promote:

The award categories are:

1)    NEC People “2014 Contractor of the Year”: This award is to be nominated for by Employers who would like to propose their Contractor for our first ever Contractor of the year award. The award will be given to the Contractor who has most clearly embraced the processes and the spirit of the NEC3 contract to the mutual benefit of the Parties.

2)    NEC People “2014 Employer of the Year”: This award is to be nominated for by Contractors who would like to propose their Employer for our first ever “Employer of the year award”. The award will be given to the Employer who has embraced the processes and the spirit of the NEC3 contract to the mutual benefit of the Parties.

3)    NEC People “2014 Project Innovation of the Year”: This award will be nominated for by a project team who feel they have initiated a particular innovation that has helped develop or enhance the mechanics of administering a project under the NEC3 form of contract.

4)    NEC People “2014 Best ‘Z’ Clause of the Year”. This award will be nominated by anyone who feel that a Z clause amendment has added the most benefit to the project and potentially would be a good clause to be added to the standard contract itself in the future.

5)    NEC People “2014 Worst ‘Z’ Clause of the Year. This most prestigious award will be nominated by anyone who feels that a particular Z clause amendment had the most potential to completely undermine the intent and values of the NEC3 contracts. Unfortunately the winner of this award will remain anonymous to protect the innocent (or in this case the guilty) but the clause itself will have its time in lights as a shining example of how (not) to write an amendment!
